News Release: 4/22/2025

Friends and neighbors,

I am incredibly proud of the accomplishments my colleagues and I have achieved on the  Charlotte County School Board.  Through conservative leadership, we lowered your tax rates and increased our rainy-day reserves all while improving academic achievements for our students. We always made educating students – not indoctrinating them - our top priority.
It has been said that to every season there is a change, and that rings true for me today as I announce my candidacy to the Charlotte County Board of County Commissioners. As a conservative Republican and successful businesswoman,  I  am  running  for  Charlotte County  Commission  to  bring fresh leadership, common-sense solutions, and conservative values to our County Commission. I will fight to rein in wasteful spending, protect individual freedoms, preserve our natural resources, enact term limits for the County Commissioners, and ensure our community remains a place where families and businesses can thrive.
The Republican primary election for County Commissioner is more than 16 months away. In that time I will continue to serve our students and taxpayers on the School Board with the same vigor you have come to expect from me. However, to unseat a career politician who was first elected to office 47 years ago, I am going to need a robust and well-funded  campaign. I am committed to earning the support from voters all across Charotte County.
Charlotte County deserves better than a career politician who taxes and spends without accountability. It’s time for a change. I am that change, and I am ready to lead the fight for a stronger, more prosperous future – but I need your support. With your vote, we will build a brighter future for Charlotte County.
Sincerely,

Kim Amontree                                            www.amontree.com
